The Computer Studies Lab is open to Ohlone registered students working on courses which are supported by a specific software package.� The primary purpose of this lab is to support the Computer Studies courses, and any other department that arranges with the CS department for use of the computers to support their courses.�
Hours
Fall and Spring :�
��� Mon - Fri, 9am � 8:45pm�
��� Sat 10am � 4pm�
Summer:�
��� Mon - Thur, 9am � 8pm�
��� Sat 10am � 4pm.�

Assistance
The daytime instructor is Pamela Wilhite.� Robert Hayden is the evening lab technician, and there are instructors available from 5-8pm most evenings and on Saturday.�

NOTE:� CS Lab is not the place for general word processing, i.e. typing or printing papers for non-CS classes.� For this you should go to the Writing Lab in Bldg 1.� Microsoft Word is NOT installed on any of the Bldg 4 lab machines. Also, all the printers are dot matrix type, therefore slow and lower quality print.�

CS Lab Rules
2. For their safety, no children are allowed in the lab�
3. DO NOT make any changes to the hard drive, i.e. load any new software.�
4. DO NOT store documents on the hard disk.� Students must bring their own floppy or zip drives to store their work. LABEL - YOUR FLOPPY DISK!� If your disk is lost, check our lost and found box.� We are not responsible for your disks!�
5. DO NOT make any changes to system settings.�
6. Respect the dignity of others in the lab (space, noise, environment)�

Internet Acess Policy� Internet/web access is limited to class assignments and web research for class assignments

- Personal web browsing and email are LOW PRIORITY ACTIVITIES and cannot be done when the lab is in demand.

- NO PRINTING of web pages.�You should copy and paste�any needed text to a wordpad or notepad document and�save that document on your�floppy disk.

- NO DOWNLOADING of software to the hard drive

- NO GAME PLAYING

- NO CHATTING

- You MAY NOT browse sites that may be offensive to others.� This is a public, shared lab and all value systems must be respected.�
